Richard Ruston is currently the President of People First of Ontario, an organization devoted to supporting adult citizens who have been labeled developmentally disabled to be more active citizens by:

• speaking out for themselves
• making decisions for themselves
• educating the community about human rights
• actively contributing to the creation of communities that include all of our citizens

Richard is a dynamic activist, organizer, workshop presenter and speaker.

For the past five years I have worked closely in partnership with Richard at People First of Ontario. Richard has just recently established his own consulting business, Empowerment Consulting, and together we have worked with advocacy groups and community organizations tackling the challenge of facilitating real participation and inclusion of people with developmental disabilities.
